Way Back When.....

The setting of this story took place at New Grove Baptist Church in Jefferson Georgia, Easter Sunday. My family and I enjoyed the service and afterwards there was an Easter ceremony where the little kids could come up and do inspirational dances, songs etc. I was four going on five at the time. The whole ceremony i wanted to get up there to sing one of my favorite songs of all time, so i told my mom and she told my pastor. He told my mom we will see towards the end if there is enough time. So we all enjoyed the different kids doing their songs and dances.

There wasn’t enough time at the end so i couldn’t sing my song after all. I was very dissapointed. After service we were all in the car and my mom asked me,

“Liyah, what song did you want to sing baby?”
and i replied back,
“Mom you know my song”. and she said
“No i don’t ,what song?” Then i replied back smiling “ YALL GON MAKE ME LOSE MY MIND, UP IN HERE! UP IN HERE!
My mom’s mouth dropped and her and my dad began laughing historically. I remember her saying to my dad
“Im so glad they ran out of time, because if she would have went up there singing that, you would’ve had to go get her”
That was a very funny incident that happened when i was very young.  If you are not familiar with the song i am talking about i have attached it to this document. Enjoy, and imagine if you were at my church and you saw me at 4 years old singing this.
